Upneeq Before & After
What is Ptosis ?
Ptosis is when the upper eyelid droops over the eye. The eyelid may droop just a little, or so much that it covers the pupil. Ptosis can limit or even completely block normal vision.
How Does Upneeq Work?
Directly activates α-adrenergic receptors in Müller’s muscle, stimulating contraction and elevation of the upper eyelids in adults with low-lying lids.
Upneeq is a prescription eyedrop. One eye drop is inserted into each eye once a day. With Upneeq, oxymetazoline causes the upper eyelid muscle to contract (tighten up). This causes a subtle lifting effect and opens the eyes wider.
Upneeq’s lifting effect is temporary. Visible improvement is typically seen within 15 minutes of application. Results can last up to 8 hours.
Is Upneeq Right For Me?
Upneeq is designed for men and women suffering from acquired ptosis (droopy eyelids caused by aging.) The daily eyedrop provides moderate improvement. It is ideal for individuals who want younger-looking eyes without surgical intervention.
Upneeq may interfere with certain medications, especially those that affect blood pressure and amine metabolism. Be sure to disclose medication use and medical history to your doctor.
Upneeq Side Effects
Upneeq is FDA-approved and clinically proven to be safe and effective. Side effects are rare. However, possible side effects may include: eye inflammation, redness, dryness, blurred vision, or headache. These side effects are temporary.
